About us

Saoirse Saddlery was founded in 1999 by Alan Ward, who is a native of the Ballinasloe area. Having a keen interest in horses from a young age Alan did a 2 year BTEC diploma in Equine Studies in Enniskillen. He was then accepted into the Cordwainers College in London to study a 4 year coruse in saddle and bridle making aswell as a comprehensive study of lorinery – the make-up and use of bits.

Today Saoirse Saddlery is the largest and most comprehensive supplier and servicer to the equine market in the West of Ireland. We have two stores in County Galway - one in Ballinasloe and the other in Gort.
